What could be more perfect than a mountain vacation that includes canoeing, waterfalls you can swim in, unlimited hiking, and a luxury cabin in a forest retreat? Throw in delicious food and a pond where children can fish all they want, and you have the makings of an unforgettable family vacation.

What You'll Do:

Saturday: (D) Arrive at your luxury cabin in the afternoon and fish in the pond, play ping pong, or walk on a nature trail before settling in to enjoy the chef-prepared meal waiting in your cabin for you.

Sunday: (B, L, D)Today you'll explore the Pisgah National Forest Treasures.  Tube along the peaceful Davidson River. Line the kids up for a train slide into the chilly waters at famous Sliding Rock. Cross streams on logs and rocks on your way to rest in a cool cavern beneath a peaceful waterfall. In the evening, grill the steaks we provide, and help your kids catch a lightning bug to show their friends at home.

hot air balloonMonday: (B, L, D) Rise up, up, up, and away in a thrilling hot air balloon ride (optional)** that will take you soaring high above the Blue Ridge Mountains. Then, spend the day exploring the wonders of a national forest up close. Here along the incomparable Blue Ridge Parkway, you can hike up a rock promontory that offers panoramic views, feel the mist of off-the-beaten-path waterfalls, and enjoy a family picnic surrounded by majestic mountains. Dinner tonight is a fine meal at a lakeside restaurant.

Tuesday: (B, D) Choose your own adventure day!**  Great options include horseback riding with spectacular views and a stop at a 200 yr. old gem mine, whitewater rafting, guided mountain biking, or the Biltmore House.  This evening enjoy a guided tour of historic McCormick Field and take in an Asheville Tourists Baseball Game.+ You may even be chosen to throw out the first pitch!

Wednesday: (B) Indulge in a hearty breakfast at a café that the locals have selected repeatedly as "Best Country Restaurant." Just down the hill, canoe, kayak, or raft down a quiet stretch of the French Broad. Sshh. . . you may see river otters or spot a black bear as you float.

Your afternoon is free to walk Asheville's Urban Trail, browse the downtown shops, or go take a nap!  This evening enjoy dinner on your own. (With minimum 10 participants, we'll host a lakeside luau for you at a nearby park.  Add $60 per person to your trip price.)
