Soak up the sophistication and Southern charm of Greenville on this trip that has something for everyone. Gaze down at Main Street from the floor-to-ceiling window of your Plaza Suite. Then, simply walk out through the lovely atrium to explore a delightful downtown. Add to this setting a gondola ride, live musical performances, mountain trails, and waterfalls, and you'll never want to leave.

What You'll Do:

Thursday: (D) Take an optional BMW Zentrum tour* on your way into town, and then perhaps go for a dip in the swimming pool at the luxurious Hyatt Regency. This evening, with a gourmet picnic specially prepared for your family, unwind while listening to a "Concert by the Lake" at the serene and beautiful campus of Furman University. We'll even provide a loaf of bread to feed the ducks!

Friday: (B, L, D) Remember Goodnight, Moon? Well, your kids will love searching Main Street for the nine mice sculptures based on the book, as you explore this charming, yet cosmopolitan, downtown. Be sure to stop at the Mast General Store for a step back in time and a baseball-sized jaw breaker. Just behind Shoeless Joe's statue, enjoy lunch at a café overlooking a spectacular roaring waterfall right in the heart of downtown. Then, sing "I've got Peace like a River," as a gondolier glides your family down the Reedy River. In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Then hum along to a little live jazz while your kids get their faces painted or bounce in the moonwalk set up on Main Street. There may even be an outdoor performance of a Shakespearean play for you to enjoy.

Saturday: (L) Savor scones from a downtown bakery*, or choose fresh produce from the Saturday morning farmers market*, and then head for the mountains just a few miles north. You'll discover wonders of nature and signs of wildlife as you hike along a beautiful creek, perhaps accompanied by a local naturalist*(optional add-on). Enjoy lunch and an ice cream cone at a local restaurant that is a destination in itself. Still up for more? Then, travel a bit further north and walk an easy trail to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in South Carolina. Or, enter the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, where you'll find Caesar's Head, Devil's Kitchen, and a moderate 4 mile round-trip trail to South Carolina's tallest waterfall. Later, choose from the many fine Greenville restaurants* for an evening on your own.
